Founded in 1987, Horizon Yachts has celebrated 35 years as one of the largest luxury yacht builders in the world as well as the number one builder in the Asia Pacific region.
In the past three decades, Horizon has delivered over 855 luxury yachts, with more than 220 of these over 80 feet in length. Popular models ranging from 52 to 150 feet include motor yachts, superyachts, expedition yachts, and fast displacement motor yachts.
2022 has been an incredible year for the custom luxury yacht builder, and here’s our pick of some of the highlights…
The world’s fastest growing yacht series continues to grow – The largest FD Series yacht built to date debuted at Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (FLIBS) in October.
The 30.9-meter Horizon Tri-Deck FD110 is the new flagship of the Horizon Yacht FD Series. Featuring naval architecture from Cor D Rover, the Tri-Deck layout option offers a lightweight open flybridge equipped with a helm and seating area atop the bridge deck, which features a forward wheelhouse, interior skylounge with dayhead and bar and hot tub aft.
A new E75 model was delivered for a repeat Australian client. The 24m motor yacht features an enclosed skylounge and customised beach club.
The E75 is one of Horizon’s most popular models, with a sleek exterior profile with surprisingly large deck spaces for a yacht of her size. The model offers a three stateroom layout, with accommodations for six guests.
Horizon launched and delivered this brand new model in its successful E Series line.
An evolution of the E88 model, the new E90 combines a performance-oriented hull with a streamlined superstructure.
The E90 has a four-stateroom layout. With a beam of 21 ft (6.4 meters), the vessel offers plenty of deck space and features great interior volumes. The E90 set on its maiden voyage in Spring, traveling to the Abacos, where she was officially christened ‘Lazy Daze’.
Hull #8 of the popular 25 metre Horizon FD80 series was launched.
Of note, this is the first model from the series to feature an open galley design, the first to be equipped with Caterpillar 1,600 horsepower engines and the first to include Garmin’s Surround View six-camera “Birdseye” system that promises enhanced security and safety onboard.
Built on speculation for the U.S. market, her world debut was at the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Created in collaboration with world-renowned designer Jonathan Quinn Barnett, the new Horizon V68 has been planned throughout with spacious accommodations, wide side decks, and a voluminous interior on a 19’6” beam that takes advantage of large windows in the main deck and cabins.
Ideal for first or second-time buyers, families and owner/operators, the Horizon V68 provides the qualities of a superyacht – safety, solid architecture, and customization – all in under 70 feet.
After a two-year hiatus, the Sydney International Boat Show (SIBS) returned in July and Horizon Yachts Australia was a key exhibitor, showcasing a brand new FD80 and an E75.
The new Horizon FD80 features a semi-enclosed skylounge configuration and is the very first FD80 to feature an open galley on the main deck.
The E75 – historically the most popular Horizon yacht model in the Australian market – features a sleek and streamlined profile. The proven hull design of the E75 makes her an exceptionally seaworthy build for Australian waters.

Horizon Yacht has announced the launch a unique three-stateroom custom FD90 motoryacht. Commissioned by a Horizon E88 owner looking to upgrade, the FD90 features a number of customisations to suit the owners who cruise with their three dogs.
The yard’s willingness to consider, engineer and accommodate requests for customization is among the many reasons that experienced owners return to Horizon time and again to build their next dream yacht.
The customer approached the yard directly to design and build a yacht based on the FD Series’ voluminous profile and hull form that would suit his family’s onboard lifestyle. The custom FD90 features a three cabin layout, with all three cabins located on the lower deck to free up the main deck for entertaining.
Accommodation customisations have also been made for the owners’ dogs, which include a special windowsill ledge in the dinette area for the dogs to sit on.
The most dramatic departure from the standard FD Series main deck layout is found forward, where the owners specified a large galley/country kitchen configuration in the space normally accommodating an on-deck master stateroom.
The country kitchen area features a built-in dinette and working desk overlooked by a skylight with motorized blinds.
On the upper deck, the pilothouse and enclosed skylounge features dual helm chairs, a fixed L-shaped settee and hi/lo sliding table top dinette and a dayhead.
The foredeck features a sunpad and Jacuzzi and barriers have been erected around the deck to enable the owners’ dogs to run around safely.
Speaking about the yacht, the owner said: “Horizon’s willingness to modify their design is limited only by your imagination and your pocketbook. Our dogs also played into the design and Horizon made numerous modifications to keep them safe aboard while cruising.”
Powered by dual CAT engines of 1,136hp each, this custom FD90 holds 3,480 U.S. gallons of fuel. She is on schedule to deliver to her owners in early November 2020.
