The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous celebrates its 14th anniversary this year from the 16th to the 18th of December with the event hosted for the second year by Kata Rocks Resort & Residences. This multi award winning 6 star residential resort enjoys unrivalled views overlooking Kata bay and the Andaman sea. The show-stopping sea view from the resort’s restaurant, bar and infinity pool is paired with an equally impressive list of superyachts taking part.
Como, is a sleek 46m semi-displacement motor yacht built by Feadship Royal Dutch Shipyards, who are the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous’ principle sponsor for the 14th consecutive year. Designed by Dubois Naval Architects she was commissioned by former New Zealand racing driver, Neville Crichton.
The sailing yacht Escapade has also been confirmed for Asia Superyacht Rendezvous 2014. The 37.5m all-aluminium sloop also boasts many innovative characteristics, and like M/Y Como is also a Dubois Naval Architects design.
The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous’ team look forward with fascination to see her performance in the racing, particularly against Thai-based 36m S/Y Yanneke Too, skippered by Captain Charlie Dwyer and S/Y Schooner Sunshine, joining the event from Myanmar (Burma).
This year’s Rendezvous will officially begin with the welcoming cocktail party aboard the iconic charter yacht Silolona, a beautiful 50-meter Phinisi sailing yacht which is available for amazing charter experiences throughout many parts of Southeast Asia.
Kata Rocks will host two private dinners for VIP guests, before the ever-popular “Feadship Challenge” gets into full swing during the second evening’s fun and festivities.
The final day will see the yachts again put through their paces, before joining in a fleet parade.
The 14th Asia Superyacht Rendezvous will head into the final evening’s entertainment with an exclusive “VIP Gala Dinner” accompanied by entertainment. The night will draw to a close in traditional Thai style and celebration, with guests having a chance to make a wish whilst lighting lanterns and setting them off into the star-filled sky.
Every year the Rendezvous endeavours to exceed expectations and this year will be no exception, promises the organiser. All eyes will be on Kata Rocks in mid December for what promises to be another exceptional edition of this yachting bonanza and luxury lifestyle celebration.
