On Friday 27 to Sunday 29 June 2014 the Selene Yachts Rendezvous returns to Marina Punat in Croatia for the second time, following on the inaugural event the year before.
Based on the first success, the second Rendezvous with the ocean trawler brand is prepared with the promise for many interesting happenings, presentations and excursions to breath-taking destinations along the Adriatic Sea on the programme.
The Selene Yachts Rendezvous in Europe brings together Selene owners, journalists and many others from the nautical industry. Many owners, some from as far afield as the United States, will attend.
Some owners will come without their yachts – one to hold a brief presentation on sailing in British Columbia – but will nonetheless participate as crew in the Selene Rally tour after the Rendezvous. The guided rally tour is planned including a visit to the superb historical town of Rab on the eponymous nearby island, which marries a dramatic setting with exquisite architecture. There will be excursions to neighbouring places of vivid natural beauty, such as national park Kornati – 140 small, uninhabited islands in an area of 35 by 13 km, forming the densest archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea – and the astounding natural World Heritage site of the Krka river waterfalls.
The event will take place at Marina Punat on the Croatian island of Krk, which is celebrating its semicentennial this year. Its 850 berths (soon to be 1000, thanks to an expansion underway) provide space for yachts up to 45 metres, and all the necessary facilities. This includes comprehensive maintenance service provided by the experienced Shipyard Punat, which predates the marina by forty years.
