April means a very important month for boating in Southeast Asia, as the whole industry gears up for exhibiting, or, as boat dealer Derani Yachts (Malaysia and Thailand) does, attending the Singapore Yacht Show.
The 4th edition of the for this boating scene highly essential yacht show is taking place from Thursday 10th April to Sunday 13th April 2014. Once again it is held at ONE°15 Marina Club on Sentosa Island and where an increasing number of potential leisure boating and lifestyle customers are expected to the city resort island to get a chance of having a closer look at the boat selection.
From the brands represented by Derani Yachts the brand Fairline Boats will be represented by a Squadron 42, a Targa 38GT, and a Targa 50. Visitors can explore the full range of luxury qualities that each individual Fairline boat has to offer. And from our Italian flagship brand there will be a 25-metre Sanlorenzo on display.
The show epitomises luxury in Asia and provides a platform for regional guests to meet yachting professionals, boat owners and yacht manufacturers in a beautiful setting.
The renowned lifestyle brand for holiday and mixed development investment in Asia Soneva (formerly part of Six Senses Hotels Resorts) will also be among the exhibitors. For an experience of barefoot and environmentally responsible travel without sacrificing luxury, Soneva resorts offers alluring options in Asia: Soneva Fushi in the Maldives and Soneva Kiri in Thailand. Soneva offers residences available to purchase. Opening in 2014, Soneva is expanding its concept, with a new resort in Sri Lanka and a yachting experience in the Maldives.
The Singapore Yacht Show is unlike any other event in the region. With a distinct focus on the most glamorous sailing and motoryachts in the world, the show is a first-class marketing platform for luxury yachting brands keen to engage with ultra-wealthy individuals in a unique setting and a relaxed, fun atmosphere over four days.
Asia is a new market for international yacht builders and brokers, where local interest in the marine leisure scene is rapidly developing. As the ranks of Asia’s super-rich continue to swell, their members seek new leisure interests and ways to invest their wealth.
New millionaires and billionaires from the region are attracted to the yachting lifestyle and all that Singapore has to offer – the financial free-zone, world-leading casinos, luxury shopping, sumptuous golf courses etc.
The Asia Pacific Yachting Conference 2014 will also be held prior to the Singapore Yacht Show, on 8-9 April. With a strong line-up of international speakers confirmed, this year’s conference has been expanded into two distinct streams so as to cover topics of interest for the superyacht industry on the one hand, and for the general boating and marine leisure industry on the other.
Newly announced speakers for APYC include Merijn de Waard of SuperYacht Times who will provide an all-important overview of the state of the global superyacht industry, setting the scene for the rest of the Conference.
Other additions to the distinguished group of speakers include Dieter Jaenicke and Andrew Howarth of Viking Recruitment and representing the International Superyacht Society, who will lead a discussion on ‘Smart Sustainability’ for the marine industry.
