Derani Yachts highlights the coming Selene 92 Ocean Explorer yacht, which, since its hull release, reached another milestone in December 2013 with the completion of the deck fitting. The construction on elements continues at “full speed” for delivery of the yacht later in 2014.
While this luxury motor yacht Selene 92 is entirely designed by Dutch architect Guido de Groot, Jet Tern Marine in China builds her. In close collaboration with a group of international consultants this boat is developed as a contemporary take – modern and luxurious – with long range cruising in mind.
The Selene 92 shows a number of the Selene family traits, including a raised pilothouse, a Portuguese bridge, a bulbous bow, large side windows and stainless-steel anchor pockets, all intended to make the yacht comfortable during extended offshore cruising. She is being promoted as a fuel-efficient, long-range yacht. Renderings show a spicy, brick red hull.
The large salon appears even more spacious thanks to the large windows in the superstructure, which let in extraordinary amounts of light while also affording great views.
The view to the outside is open, as could be expected from a pedigree explorer yacht, and several cameras provides additional eyes in tough spots.
The arrangements plans show a four-cabin layout with all staterooms on the bottom deck. They include a full-beam master amidships, a forepeak VIP with a walk-around double berth, and two staterooms with twin beds. There is an additional cabin abaft the engine room for crew, accessed via the stern.
The wheelhouse is well thought-through and ergonomic, and comprises remote controls for all systems.
She takes the simple and proven concept of the fuel efficient and seaworthy long-range yacht to a new level of luxury and with all of the advantages of GRP construction.
The new Selene 92 “Ocean Explorer” follows on the brand consolidation with Selene’s Ocean Trawler success concept, moving into the 24 M+ category of displacement motor yachts.
Selene 92 yacht features luxurious and elegant accommodation for up to 8 guests in 4 well appointed cabins.
Built in composite, luxury yacht Selene 92 can reach a to speed of 13 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 10 knots, thanks to her twin CAT diesel engines. She has a beam of 7,23m (23’9”) and a draft of 2,29m (7’6”), fully loaded.
